Multi Trader / Multi Skilled Operative – Social Housing Voids

Location: Derbyshire (DE Postcode Areas)

Pay: £25.00 per hour – CIS

Vacancies: 2–3 Operatives Required

We are currently looking to recruit 2–3 experienced Multi Traders / Multi Skilled Operatives to work on an ongoing social housing voids programme across the DE postcode areas.

The work involves carrying out repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works to vacant social housing properties, ensuring they are brought up to the required standard and ready for new tenants to move in.

We are looking for reliable, experienced tradespeople who can work independently, manage their workload effectively and deliver a high standard of workmanship.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced multi-traders looking for consistent subcontracting work at £25 per hour CIS.

Duties & Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to undertake a variety of maintenance and refurbishment tasks, including:

Carpentry & Joinery

• Hanging and repairing doors, frames, locks and ironmongery
• Skirting boards, architraves and general joinery repairs
• Kitchen unit repairs, replacements and worktop fitting
• Loft hatch and timber flooring repairs

Plumbing

• Replacing taps, sinks, basins and toilets
• Bath panels, wastes and minor pipework repairs
• Basic leak repairs and silicone sealing
• Radiator and stop tap replacements where competent

Tiling

• Replacing damaged wall and floor tiles
• Splashback tiling
• Regrouting and resealing bathrooms and kitchens

Painting & Decorating

• Preparing surfaces, filling and making good
• Emulsion and gloss painting
• Stain blocking and minor wallpaper stripping
• Internal and external decorating

Flooring

• Vinyl and laminate flooring repairs and installation
• Safety flooring and carpet tile repairs
• Floor preparation and minor screeding repairs

Plastering

• Patch plastering and skimming repairs
• Drylining and plasterboard replacement
• Minor rendering and making-good works

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Multi Trader / Multi Skilled Operative
• Experience working on social housing voids, property maintenance or refurbishment projects
• Strong competency across multiple trades, ideally carpentry, plumbing, decorating and general maintenance
• Ability to work independently and complete properties to a high standard
• Own tools and transport
• Good time management and a reliable approach to work
• Ability to work to deadlines and help achieve property turnaround targets

You do not need to be a specialist in every trade listed, but you must be genuinely multi-skilled and confident carrying out a wide range of repairs.
