Kendal office | Full time, permanent, 35 hours, 5 days per week

Salary + bonus + benefits to balance your work life.

Bridge Mills, Stramongate, Kendal LA9 4BD Kendal Cumbria Office Location

If your ideal lunch break involves a walk along the river rather than circling a city centre block, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

Our Kendal office sits in a beautiful location beside the river, on the edge of the Lake District, and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being part of an office environment, collaborating with colleagues and building great relationships with clients and the wider team.

This is not a role where you will spend your days hidden behind a screen at home. Our lawyers are looking for a colleague who enjoys the buzz of office life, likes collaborating with others, and wants to be part of a friendly and supportive team.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with experienced litigation lawyers, helping to progress a varied caseload and ensuring clients receive an outstanding service.

Expect plenty of variety, including:

  • Collaborating directly with clients and professional contacts
  • Supporting lawyers with case progression and administration
  • Managing diaries and arranging meetings
  • Undertaking research and preparing documents
  • Handling client enquiries
  • Assisting with billing, compliance, and file management
Playing a key role in keeping the team organised and running smoothly.

    Who are we looking for?

You do not necessarily need decades of experience, but you are someone who:

    • Enjoys collaborating with people and building relationships.
    • Is organised, proactive, and loves keeping things on track.
    • Has excellent communication skills?
    • Takes pride in delivering great client service.
Enjoys being part of a team and contributing to the wider office community.

Experience within litigation would be a real advantage, particularly if you have worked as a Legal Assistant, Secretary, or in a similar legal support role.

      Why Kendal? Why Napthens?

Because some jobs offer more than a desk. At Napthens, you will join a business that is ambitious, friendly, and collaborative. Working with specialists from across the firm, build relationships throughout the office, and become part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

And then there is the location.

Imagine starting your day with views of the fells, grabbing a coffee beside the river, and finishing work with the Lake District quite literally on your doorstep.

If you are already based in Kendal or the surrounding area—and you are looking for a role where you can build a long-term career whilst enjoying one of the most beautiful parts of the country—we would love to hear from you.

Swap the daily commute for riverside views.

      How to apply?

Apply today and tell us why you are suitable for the position and why you want to work for Napthens.

      Close date: 18th August 2026
