Summary

Position: Cover Security Guard
Location: Central Belt, Scotland
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Shifts: Flexible (Days & Nights)

About the Role

Palmaris Services is seeking a reliable and professional Cover Security Guard to join our team, providing support across multiple client sites throughout the Central Belt of Scotland.

This is a flexible, mobile role requiring availability for both day and night shifts, often at short notice. Candidates must be available to work across all 7 days of the week to meet the demands of this cover position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong and visible security presence across assigned sites
  • Conduct regular site patrols and monitor premises
  • Control access and egress of personnel and visitors
  • Respond promptly and effectively to incidents and emergencies
  • Complete accurate reports, logs, and documentation
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times

Driving & Mobility Requirements

As this is a mobile cover role, travel between different client sites is essential.

  • A full UK driving licence is preferred
  • Access to your own vehicle is highly desirable
  • Must be willing and able to travel at short notice

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Licence (essential)
  • Must be available to work 7 days per week, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Flexibility to cover shifts with short notice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous security experience is desirable

Experience

Candidates should ideally have prior experience within the security industry, including roles such as static guarding.

Experience in:

  • Dealing with members of the public
  • Managing incidents and conflict situations
  • Following site-specific procedures
