Job Overview

N5 Security Ltd is seeking a professional and experienced Security Dog Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside a trained security dog to provide a strong visible deterrent, conduct patrols, and respond to security incidents across various sites. This role requires a high level of responsibility, discipline, and experience in handling and controlling security dogs in operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mobile and static patrols with a trained security dog
  • Provide a strong visual deterrent against theft, trespassing, and anti-social behaviour
  • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
  • Ensure the welfare, control, and effectiveness of the security dog at all times
  • Monitor premises and report any suspicious activity
  • Assist in searches of buildings, vehicles, and open areas where required
  • Maintain accurate incident and patrol reports
  • Liaise with clients, colleagues, and emergency services
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant security and animal welfare regulations

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Licence (required)
  • NASDU Level 2 General Purpose Dog Handler certification (required depending on role)
  • Proven experience as a Security Dog Handler
  • Ability to demonstrate full control and handling of a trained security dog
  • Strong understanding of search techniques and patrol procedures
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Excellent communication and observational skills
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Dog Requirements

  • Fully trained and certified security dog (NASDU or equivalent standard)
  • Up-to-date vaccination records
  • Suitable temperament for security work (obedient, controlled, and non-aggressive unless required)
  • Ability to work effectively in public and high-risk environments

Employment & Pay Details

  • Payment will be made via PAYE (Pay As You Earn)
  • This is not a self-employed role – no UTR required
