Full job description

About Cobac Security

Cobac Security delivers people-led security services to national clients across retail, logistics, hospitality and events.

We are not a volume-driven provider. We focus on quality, accountability and long-term partnerships, investing in our people to deliver a higher standard of service on the ground. We believe that great security comes from engaged teams, strong leadership and measurable performance, not just presence.

The Role

We are looking for a National Operations Manager (Security/Manned Guarding) to join our leadership team.

Due to the size and structure of our business, this position operates across all levels of the organisation — from supporting front-line officers on site, through to leading client relationships and contributing to strategic service delivery.

You will take ownership of operational performance across a portfolio of national clients, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery while building strong, trusted relationships.

You will be equally comfortable:

  • Being present on-site, supporting and developing front-line teams
  • Managing supervisors and driving operational standards
  • Leading client meetings and influencing service delivery
  • Using data and insight to continuously improve performance

This role reports directly to the Managing Director and offers genuine visibility and impact within the business.

Location: Midlands (national travel required)
Salary: £45,000 + £5,000 car allowance + bonus & commission
Hours: 40–45 hours per week (including some weekends)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams to deliver consistently high standards of service
  • Manage and support regional supervisors and front-line officers
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement
  • Take ownership of service delivery across multiple national contracts
  • Use data and reporting to evidence performance and identify improvements
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures and H&S standards
  • Oversee recruitment, scheduling and workforce planning to maintain service levels
  • Drive a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a security, loss prevention or outsourced services management role
  • Strong operational leadership with the ability to manage across multiple sites
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within retail, logistics or hospitality security environments
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and on the ground
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using IT systems, reporting tools and scheduling platforms
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work outside standard hours when required
  • SIA Licence (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

What Makes This Role Different

  • Real ownership: You will directly influence how services are delivered, not just report on them
  • Visible leadership: This is a role that requires presence — with clients and with teams
  • Variety: No two weeks are the same, spanning operational delivery, people management and client engagement
  • Growth environment: You will be part of a business that is evolving and values input, not hierarchy

Who This Role Suits

This role suits someone who:

  • Takes pride in raising standards, not maintaining the status quo
  • Is comfortable switching between operational detail and strategic thinking
  • Values people development as much as client delivery
  • Wants to be part of a business where their impact is visible

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £45,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • In-House Loss Prevention or Outsourced Manned Guarding : 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
  • SIA (preferred)

Work Location: On the road
