ABOUT THE ROLE

A private family is seeking an experienced, discreet, and highly professional Security Officer to join their household on a permanent basis. This is a senior, trusted position working directly with the family across their primary and secondary residences and during travel both within the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the family's personal safety and security, becoming an integral and long-term member of the household team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Secure chauffeuring of family principals, including advance route planning, counter-surveillance driving and vehicle checks
  • Close protection escort during public engagements, events and travel
  • Oversight of residential security including CCTV, access control and alarm systems at multiple properties
  • Advance planning and ground logistics for domestic and international travel, including private aviation
  • Ongoing threat assessment, risk monitoring and liaison with law enforcement where required
  • Supervision and coordination of wider household security, including domestic staff vetting
  • Emergency response, first aid and evacuation planning
  • Supporting good digital hygiene and awareness of cyber security threats
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and overseas travel at short notice

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Current SIA Close Protection Licence
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in close protection or HNW private security
  • Advanced or police standard driving qualification
  • Valid first aid certification (FPOS or equivalent)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Passed DBS enhanced disclosure check
  • Immaculate presentation and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Total discretion and respect for family privacy at all times
  • Willingness to travel internationally

DESIRABLE

  • Military, police or government security background
  • Previous experience protecting children and family principals
  • Additional European language
  • Advanced first aid or pre-hospital care training
  • Firearms awareness training (UK or international)
  • Experience of multi-residence security deployments
