The RTR Group is a long-established Building & Property Services company delivering high-quality maintenance and construction services across London, Essex, Kent and surrounding areas. Due to continued growth within our Maintenance Division, we are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Gas Engineer to join our expanding team.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer with a positive attitude, strong technical ability, and pride in delivering high quality workmanship. The successful candidate will carry out inspections, installations, servicing, and repairs of gas systems in both domestic and commercial properties, alongside general maintenance duties where required.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, maintain, and repair gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on boilers, central heating systems, and gas pipework.
  • Carry out gas safety inspections and issue relevant certification.
  • Support with general property maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, drainage, tiling, decorating, and void property works.
  • Prepare quotations for remedial repairs and new works.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of work.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Gas Engineer
  • Valid Gas Safe Registration essential, including CCN1, CENWAT, and CPA1 qualifications as a minimum.
  • Strong knowledge of gas safety legislation and compliance standards.
  • Experience in general building maintenance would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence required (maximum 6 penalty points).
