Business Development Manager – National Accounts

Location: UK-wide (Central location preferred)
Salary: £70,000–£80,000 per annum + OTE + benefits

Job Overview

We are recruiting a Business Development Manager to join a business operating within the commercial truck tyre and fleet services sector.

This position will focus on developing new business opportunities and securing national accounts within the UK truck fleet market. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying prospective customers, building relationships with key decision-makers and negotiating commercial agreements with large fleet operators.

The role will involve selling commercial tyre supply and fleet management services, helping customers improve vehicle availability, manage operating costs and maintain consistent service coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the national truck fleet sector.
  • Build relationships with fleet operators, transport businesses and commercial vehicle organisations.
  • Identify key decision-makers and develop new customer relationships.
  • Manage the full sales process, from prospecting and initial engagement through to proposals, negotiations and contract completion.
  • Develop commercial proposals covering tyre supply, planned maintenance, inspections and roadside support.
  • Negotiate national agreements, framework contracts and long-term service arrangements.
  • Work with internal pricing, operations and service teams to develop suitable customer solutions.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular updates on business development activity.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer retention, service uptake and account revenue.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in business development or national account sales within the truck tyre, TBR, commercial vehicle or truck fleet sector.
  • Demonstrable experience winning new business and securing large B2B or multi-site contracts.
  • Experience dealing with national fleet operators and senior commercial or procurement decision-makers.
  • Understanding of the commercial truck tyre market and fleet management services.
  • Experience preparing commercial proposals and negotiating contracts.
  • Ability to manage longer sales cycles and develop relationships with new customers.
  • Good commercial awareness, including pricing, margins and customer operating costs.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic salary of £70,000–£80,000, depending on experience.
  • Additional commission and OTE.
  • Company benefits.
  • National UK territory.
  • Location is flexible, although a central UK base would be advantageous.

Additional Information

This is a new business development position with an initial objective of securing two national fleet accounts within the first 12 months.

Candidates should have experience developing new business within the truck fleet sector. TBR experience would be advantageous, although relevant national fleet sales experience will also be considered.

Applications from candidates whose experience is primarily within passenger car tyre (PCR) sales or retail tyre sales are unlikely to be suitable.

If your experience matches the requirements and you are interested in discussing the opportunity, please submit your application.

Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
