About MVA

Minerva Virtual Academy is the UK's fastest-growing online school. As we enter a new phase of growth, we are scaling our school and local authority partnerships, expanding our impact, and establishing MVA as the go-to online school for dual enrolment, alternative provision, and independent school support.

The role

This is a senior role for a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager who will both lead the delivery of our 2025 school and LA growth strategy and oversee other business development professionals across the business. You will be a strategic executor and team leader, capable of taking a hands-on role in outreach while also coaching, managing, and coordinating across multiple business development channels.

Key responsibilities

Execute targeted outreach campaigns to schools and local authorities to deliver our core growth strategy. Lead the implementation of outreach across school networks, LAs, education bodies, and key associations (COBIS, ISA, HMC). Build and manage a high-performing business development team, providing leadership, mentoring, and performance tracking. Coordinate the development and delivery of outreach strategies across the business, ensuring alignment with central goals and messaging. Oversee CRM use and sales funnel performance across team members, setting KPIs and monitoring progress. Represent MVA at major education conferences, events, and thought leadership opportunities. Own key relationships with strategic partners, local authorities, and MATs. Work closely with the CEO, Head of Strategy, and Marketing to evolve and optimise the broader business development roadmap.

Day-to-day execution

Targeted outreach campaigns (email, LinkedIn, calls) to Heads, SENCOs, Deputy Heads, Pastoral Leaders, and LA decision-makers. Deliver the dual enrolment growth strategy, reaching over 1,000 schools and scaling to 250+ dual-enrolled pupils. Lead communication with Local Authorities, pitching MVA as a cost-effective, high-quality alternative provision for EHCP and NEET pupils. Represent MVA at school and education events, including BETT, NASEN Live, and Headteacher forums. Support partnership development with associations and develop speaking opportunities. Contribute to pitch decks, email campaigns, and sales collateral. Manage Discovery Calls with school leaders. Track leads, pipeline activity, and conversion performance via CRM.

Who you are

4-6+ years' experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, ideally in education, charity, or edtech. Experienced team leader, confident in managing people, targets, and outcomes. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Strategic mindset with the ability to zoom out and lead big-picture growth plans while delivering tactical results. Entrepreneurial spirit and a deep belief in MVA's mission to support pupils who thrive best in flexible, online environments.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

To apply for this role, please submit your CV and a strong, supporting Cover Letter in PDF form. Any applications received without a cover letter will not be considered.
