Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Sunbury-on-Thames

Starting Salary: Starting salary is £22,962, rising to £23,498 on successful completion of probationary period.

Hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm. Term time only

Embark on an exciting journey as a SEN Teaching Assistant at a warm and brand new special needs school in South East London. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of learners.

About You:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with the class teacher to provide essential support to students. We are seeking an individual who is inherently supportive and proactive, ideally with previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with children who have special needs
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant degree is desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the teacher in delivering work with the children in the class.
  • Supporting children with their classwork, reading, and writing skills.
  • Supporting with behaviour management
  • Planning and leading targeted interventions to support pupils in development areas.
  • Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school.
  • Undertaking observations of pupils and contributing to pupil records.
  • Supporting the class teacher with the general management and supervision of the classroom.
  • Working in small groups or on a 1:1 basis with learners
