Full job description
When you’re tired of the stress and pressure of the classroom, just know there is another way.
If you can teach outside the box, outside the curriculum and outside the classroom, SENse Learning is the place for you.
You will have to be a passionate and adventurous teacher to work with SENse Learning, committed to interest based learning focusing on the individual.
You will need to be assertive and resilient in your approach, creative and confident in your style and determined to ensure everyone has the same opportunity to learn. You can earn between £35-£45 an hour delivering individuals 1.1 sessions in their own homes, in a time frame that works best for you.
As a self employed associate with SENse Learning, you’re able to pick your own hours, how far you travel and really mould your own work/life balance to suit your needs. Set within the students' own homes and out in the community, our learning packages meet the needs of the individual students offering creative, interest-led sessions.
Benefits of being an Associate
- You have the potential to earn an exceptional £5000 a month.
- You can develop amazing relationships with disengaged young people.
- You get to pick when you’re available to work.
- You get to manage your workload, having total control over which contracts you accept or not.
- You get to revel in the joy of 1:1 working, supporting individuals in an individual way.
- You can join a community of ex-teachers, who have discovered joy of education out of the classroom.
Person Specification
- You will have a Qualified Teaching Status certificate or equivalent.
- You will have at least two years teaching experience post NQT.
- You will have extensive experience working with students with a range of complex additional needs.
- Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way.
- You will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student centred way.
- You will be willing to register as self-employed.
- You will have a strong commitment to safeguarding.
- You will have the resilience to manage potentially challenging situations.
Role Description
- Developing strong professional relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
- Understand the importance of emotional regulation and can implement strategies to support/model this appropriately.
- Be part of developing and delivering a holistic curriculum that focuses on all four areas of the EHCP.
- Create interest based learning opportunities linked to students targets.
- Have detailed knowledge of a trauma informed approach.
- Following the guidance in each person's individual risk assessment/student plan to support them to manage their anxiety and behaviour in a positive way and to keep them and others safe.
- Utilise a range of strategies in supporting the range of additional needs we work with.
