Exciting opportunity for a Molecular Lead

Alderley Lighthouse Labs has an exciting opportunity for a Molecular Lead to join our team at our state-of-the-art laboratory based in Cheadle Park. This is a permanent, full-time role working between the hours of 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

Overseeing the Molecular Diagnostic testing workflow from sample reception to results reporting via the laboratory information management system.

Leading a team of Biomedical Scientists and Laboratory Scientists to ensure high standards and prompt turnaround times.

Working with the Quality Team in maintaining all aspects of quality in the Molecular Laboratory, adhering to ISO 15189 and GCLP standards including leading the team in accreditation inspections.

Performing audits, investigating incidents, contributing to laboratory documentation using the quality management system.

Managing equipment maintenance and reagent/consumable stock.

Implementing new technologies and novel assays.

Required

MSc or higher qualification in a relevant discipline

Significant, current experience working in a molecular diagnostic laboratory

Thorough knowledge of manual and automated molecular diagnostic techniques

Experience managing a team

Essential

• HCPC Biomedical Scientist registration
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Senior BMS in a relevant role
• Experience of UKAS assessment processes.
• Use of an eQMS system.
• Experience in managing quality objectives
