The New Foscote Hospital, part of the Akessa Health Care Group is looking for an experienced dynamic and organised Senior MRI Radiographer with a proven background, to join our team.

About Us:

The Akessa Healthcare Group owns and operates several boutique independent hospitals including The New Foscote Hospital, Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital and 107 Harley Street.

The New Foscote Hospital was established in Banbury over 40 years ago and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. We have over 70 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified, and experienced nursing and support teams.

The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital was established in Aylesbury in 1832 and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. The ownership of the hospital was transferred to our new management team in January 2023. By joining our existing portfolio, the hospital is now run professionally and provides clinical care to private, insured and NHS patients, with a strong ethos on caring for our staff.

107 Harley Street, is an outpatient, diagnostic and day-case facility. The Group has had a presence in the Harley Street area since 2010. The treatments offered at this facility includes oral and maxillofacial surgery, dermatology, orthodontics and specialist dentistry, plastic and cosmetic surgery, general surgery and rheumatology.

The clinical outcomes of the hospital group are of the highest standards and the latest CQC report rated our hospital standards as ‘good’ across all parameters. Our organisation has strong IT, operational, clinical governance and accountancy support. All colleagues are encouraged to feel empowered and to have an active voice on the management of their services.

Role Purpose:

At The New Foscote Hospital, the MRI Radiographer will undertake and delegate the organisation of care provision within the Radiology Department. They will provide and ensure that quality planned care of patients is consistent throughout their journey with us. Providing appropriate clinical expertise throughout the department, adhering to protocol and procedures, supporting the Radiology bookings team and assisting the Group Radiology Manager Services Manager in developing innovative strategies to future proof the hospital. This role is primarily based at The New Foscote Hospital, but there will be some travel to other Akessa Healthcare sites.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To act with the upmost professionalism and to adhere to the HCPC code of conduct
  • Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care
  • Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs
  • A ‘hands on’ role within the Radiology Department
  • Make sound considered judgements and informed decisions on the imaging required and then provide highly skilled and specialised imaging for patients
  • Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self
  • Promote best evidence-based practice
  • Apply and ensure others comply with legislation, policies and procedures
  • What you will be doing:
  • To efficiently complete all documentation and checks
  • Be a role model and mentor to staff on all departmental and hospital-wide matters
  • Ensure the working environment is as safe as possible and complies with company, professional, legal requirements and guidelines
  • Adhere to Infection Prevention Control policies and procedures
  • To assist and support the Imaging and Allied Health Services Manager with any additional departmental work
  • To accurately maintain QA within MRI, and support the maintenance of QA in the other areas in the department
  • Ensure they are compliant with CPD
  • Provide administrational and organisational support to the Imaging and Group Radiology Manager

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in computer programmes, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
