Are you an experienced Outpatient Nurse/Senior Outpatient Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to help shape a brand-new outpatient service from the ground up?

Compass Associates are proud to have exclusively partnered with Welbeck Health Partners for the opening of their brand-new hospital, boasting 12 specialties equipped with the latest technology and world-renowned consultants dedicated to delivering the best patient experience.

At present, we are searching for an experienced and motivated Senior Outpatient Nurse to join the team and support the operational and clinical management of the outpatient department.

This role will work closely alongside the Outpatient Nurse Manager, acting as a deputy within the department while maintaining a strong clinical presence on the floor. Approximately 75% of the role will involve direct clinical oversight, supporting consultants, ensuring clinics run efficiently, and assisting with hands-on patient care.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing the department for launch, ensuring staff are trained and supported, departmental standards are maintained, and outpatient services are delivered safely and effectively across a multi-specialty environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and operational support across the outpatient department
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of clinics, ensuring appropriate staffing and clinic preparation
  • Maintain a visible clinical presence within the department, supporting consultants and patients directly
  • Assist with hands-on patient care and outpatient procedures where required
  • Ensure departmental standards, policies, and procedures are consistently maintained
  • Support staff management responsibilities including inductions, training, appraisals, and one-to-ones
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Support the development and implementation of outpatient processes and service improvements
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, regulatory standards, and best practice guidelines
  • Assist with workforce planning and staff development within the department
  • Support the wider hospital opening and outpatient service launch

What can you bring?

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Previous experience working within an outpatient environment
  • Multi-specialty outpatient experience is essential
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions
  • Experience supporting or managing staff, including appraisals and development
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach within a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Passion for delivering high-quality patient care and supporting service development
  • Phlebotomy, Cannulation, and Venepuncture skills are desirable

Candidates currently working at Band 5 level with significant senior-level responsibilities are encouraged to apply
