Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Setting Out Engineer / Site Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in setting out, and a solid understanding of electrical systems. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring project specifications are met, and maintaining health and safety standards across the site. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in delivering projects efficiently, on time, and within budget, while ensuring high-quality standards are upheld throughout all phases of construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise setting out activities to ensure precise positioning of structures in accordance with design drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve on-site issues promptly
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems where applicable, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Monitor progress against project timelines and report on site performance regularly
  • Conduct site inspections to verify quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to environmental policies
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment allocation, and workforce scheduling
  • Maintain accurate records of setting out measurements, modifications, and site activities for documentation purposes
  • Enforce health and safety protocols to minimise risks and promote a safe working environment for all personnel

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Manager within the construction industry
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent organisational skills
  • Proficiency in using total stations, GPS equipment, laser levels, and other surveying tools
  • Good understanding of electrical systems installation is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving site challenges
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to construction sites
