Field Service Engineer – Midlands & Northern England

Role Description

We are looking for a full-time Field Service Engineer to join our growing team, covering a territory across the Midlands, Northern England and surrounding areas. This is a home-based role, working remotely from your own location with daily travel to customer sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of compressors, compressed air treatment systems and gas generation equipment. Your primary objective will be to minimise customer downtime by providing responsive, high-quality technical support and preventative maintenance.

In addition to servicing equipment, you will also carry out:

  • Breathing air quality testing
  • Bacteria testing
  • Compressed air leak surveys

A company van, mobile phone, laptop and any specialist tools required for the role will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and service compressed air and gas generation equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs at customer sites.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers.
  • Complete breathing air testing, bacteria testing and air leak surveys.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while building long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Previous experience within the compressed air industry is essential.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and prioritise effectively.
  • A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence.
