About the Role

We’re looking for a confident and capable Retail Supervisor to take a key role in the day-to-day running of our store.

You’ll be responsible for leading and supporting a small team, ensuring the shop runs smoothly and that our customers receive consistently high standards of service.

We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. You may already be an experienced Retail Supervisor, or you may be a Team Leader or Supervisor in another customer-focused environment, such as hospitality, looking to bring your leadership skills into retail.

What matters most is that you’re confident leading a team, comfortable taking responsibility and enjoy being hands-on and involved in the day-to-day operation of a busy shop.

Working closely with the management team, you will lead by example on the shop floor, support and motivate the team, maintain excellent customer service and ensure the store is beautifully presented and running smoothly.

You will be involved in all aspects of the shop, including team leadership, customer service, visual merchandising, stock management, opening and closing, cash handling and day-to-day problem solving.

You’ll also be trusted to make decisions during your shifts, deal confidently with customer or operational issues and ensure the team stays organised, motivated and focused throughout the day.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys responsibility, takes pride in high standards and wants to make a real contribution to the success of an independent business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, delivering warm, personalised and knowledgeable customer service
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the shop and ensure everything runs smoothly
  • Lead, support and motivate the team, providing guidance and on-the-job training where needed
  • Allocate tasks and ensure the team remains organised and productive throughout the day
  • Style and merchandise displays to keep the shop looking beautiful, inspiring and fresh
  • Maintain high standards of presentation across the shop floor
  • Manage stock systems, including deliveries, inventory checks, replenishment and restocking
  • Ensure the shop is clean, tidy and visually consistent at all times
  • Take responsibility for opening and closing the store, including cash handling and relevant procedures
  • Deal confidently with day-to-day customer queries and operational issues
  • Use initiative and good judgement when making decisions during your shift
  • Work closely with management and communicate any important issues or opportunities
  • Help create a positive, supportive and enjoyable environment for the team
  • Provide weekend availability, usually on alternate weekends

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Supervisor, Team Leader or similar, ideally with experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Friendly, professional and confident, with a natural ability to lead and support others
  • Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions without constant direction
  • A confident communicator who can motivate and encourage a small team
  • Organised, reliable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail
  • Creative, with a strong eye for design, presentation and visual merchandising
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • Computer-literate and comfortable learning new systems
  • Positive, practical and able to remain calm and solution-focused when things get busy
  • Happy to be hands-on and involved in all aspects of running the shop
