Continuous Improvement Engineer

BMR Solutions are working in partnership with a leading advanced engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a key permanent position based in Clevedon.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-technology manufacturing business and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across production and operational functions. The successful candidate will lead Lean initiatives, facilitate continuous improvement projects, and help develop a culture focused on efficiency, quality, and sustainable performance improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for embedding Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles throughout the business, supporting teams to identify opportunities for improvement and delivering measurable operational benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Lean Six Sigma training programmes across all levels of the organisation.
  • Coach and mentor employees in continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, delivery and cost reduction.
  • Define, implement and maintain Lean manufacturing standards and operating procedures.
  • Facilitate structured problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
  • Identify and eliminate waste through the application of Lean tools and techniques.
  • Monitor, analyse and report key operational performance metrics and project outcomes.
  • Support business-wide operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Participate in group-wide improvement forums and share best practice across the wider organisation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Proven experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen and Standard Work.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using risk assessment and mitigation techniques within improvement projects.
