Control Room Operator

£13.98 per hour | 4 on 4 off Shift Pattern

Silverwood Recruitment is currently seeking a professional and reliable Control Room Operator for an exciting new opportunity within a fast-paced security environment.

This role operates on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern, covering both 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am shifts. If you are calm under pressure, technically minded, and enjoy working in a role where attention to detail is essential, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Control Room Operator, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of the organisation’s premises. Working within a modern control room environment, your responsibilities will include monitoring alarms and CCTV systems, managing access control, handling security requests, and ensuring all incidents and actions are accurately logged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage access control systems across multiple sites
  • Issue, update and maintain staff and contractor access cards
  • Monitor alarms and coordinate responses to incidents
  • Process CCTV footage requests and downloads in line with procedures
  • Order and manage security devices and related equipment
  • Respond to ad hoc operational requests from staff
  • Maintain accurate records using the ticketing system
  • Support reporting and incident tracking activities
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures and industry regulations

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a control room or security environment is desirable
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Professional, discreet and trustworthy approach
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Essential Requirements

  • A full 5-year checkable work history
  • Successful completion of PSNI checks and BS5979 / BS7858 screening
  • Applicants unsuccessful at interview for the same grade role within the last 6 months will not be considered
