Full job description

If you love Business Studies and want to teach it to students who are actually excited to learn about corporate strategy, start-ups, and global markets, this is the perfect spot. Wayman Education is working with a brilliant, co-educational independent school in Bath to find a full-time Business Teacher.

Whether you’ve been teaching for years and want a school with more freedom and smaller classes, or you're an ambitious ECT looking for a supportive environment to kickstart your career, we want to hear from you.

What’s the job like?

You’ll be teaching Business across GCSE and A-Level (or equivalent Level 3 programmes). This isn't just about reading from a textbook to pass exams; it’s about breaking down real-world case studies, debating recent economic shifts, and helping students think like real entrepreneurs.

The department is highly collaborative and well-resourced, meaning you won’t have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to planning. Plus, there’s plenty of room to get creative, whether that's running enterprise days, mentoring Young Enterprise teams, or setting up stock market challenges.

The School

Located in the beautiful city of Bath, this school blends a rich academic tradition with a relaxed, friendly community feel.

  • Small Classes: Cap at around 12 to 16 students, so you can actually teach rather than just manage a crowded room.
  • Great Behaviour: The students are polite, motivated, and genuinely want to do well. You won't spend your lessons managing low-level disruption.
  • University Success: The sixth form is a real hub of ambition, with a huge chunk of students heading off to Russell Group universities and top business schools every year.

What we’re looking for:

  • A formal teaching qualification (like QTS or a PGCE), or solid teaching experience within the independent sector.
  • A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or something closely related.
  • A real passion for the subject and the ability to challenge bright, inquisitive minds.
  • Great communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • The legal right to work here in the UK.

What’s in it for you?

  • A highly competitive salary on the Independent School Scale (often beating the standard main scale).
  • A permanent contract starting September 2026.
  • A generous independent school pension scheme.
  • Excellent, funded professional development (CPD) tailored to your career goals.
  • A free, high-quality cooked lunch every day.
  • A leadership team that actually looks out for your wellbeing and work-life balance.

About Wayman Education
