Do you enjoy supporting children one-to-one and helping them grow in confidence every day?

We’re looking for a warm and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school based in Hackney. This is a lovely opportunity to work closely with one pupil with Autism, providing consistent support in a nurturing and structured environment.

This is a long-term Teaching Assistant role until the end of the school year, starting after May half-term until July on a full-time basis – with the potential to continue in this position in the next academic year.

Your Teaching Assistant duties:
  • Supporting a pupil with autism on a one-to-one basis.
  • Helping with personalised learning activities.
  • Encouraging communication, independence, and social skills.
  • Providing calm and positive behaviour support.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team.
As a Teaching Assistant - what do the school require from you?

  • Experience supporting children in Primary schools
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is a bonus!
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
  • Confident in your ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations
  • Resilience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and team mindset
