Choice Teachers are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in Bromley who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Autism Support Worker to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, helping pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) access learning and reach their full potential. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
  • Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual pupil needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
  • Support pupils during lessons, break times, and transitions around the school
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEND or additional needs
  • Have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Autism Support Worker, or similar role
  • Be patient, nurturing, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Be proactive and willing to use their initiative
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
