Job Summary
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspiring youth football coaches to join our growing coaching team.
We are currently recruiting across both our boys’ and girls’ programmes, working with players at U14, U15 and U16 level.
LDN City Football Academy has established a strong competitive and player-development environment, with recent achievements including:
- Current London County Cup Champions
- Back-to-back League Champions
- Best in London Champions
- Over 34 Professional Academy & Scholar Signings
We are looking for coaches who are passionate about player development, confident working within a competitive youth football environment and committed to learning and delivering the LDN coaching philosophy.
Applicants should be London-based and able to travel reliably across East London for training and matchday commitments.
Weekly Commitment
The core commitment for these roles is:
- One midweek training session per week
- Saturday matchdays
LDN teams compete within the JPL and SFL leagues, so coaches should be able to commit consistently to both weekly training and Saturday fixtures.
Additional specialist sessions, Academy Select Programme activity, scouting opportunities and CPD may also be available depending on the coach’s role, availability and development goals.
Paid & Volunteer Opportunities
LDN offers both paid and volunteer coaching positions.
The most suitable route will depend on the applicant’s:
- Previous coaching experience
- Qualifications
- Level of responsibility
- Availability and commitment
- Ability to lead or support a team
- Personal development goals
- Desired outcome from joining LDN
Some applicants may be seeking a paid coaching role with greater responsibility, while others may want to gain experience, complete CPD, strengthen their coaching CV, develop scouting knowledge, gain academy exposure or progress towards future lead-coaching opportunities.
We are therefore open to discussing the most appropriate pathway for each successful candidate.

Both supporting and lead-coaching opportunities may be available depending on experience and suitability.
Role Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Plan and deliver one high-quality midweek training session each week.
- Develop players technically, tactically, physically and psychologically.
- Create structured training programmes aligned with LDN’s player-development philosophy.
- Develop players’ understanding of football principles, tactics, decision-making and game management.
- Assess individual and team performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare matchday plans, formations and tactical strategies.
- Coach and manage teams during Saturday league fixtures.
- Support teams competing within the JPL and SFL leagues.
- Motivate and inspire players to perform to a high standard.
- Create a positive, competitive and professional development environment.
- Ensure player welfare and safety during all Club LDN activities.
- Work collaboratively with other coaches and staff.
- Communicate professionally with players, parents, scouts, academy staff and opposition teams.
- Demonstrate excellent standards of punctuality, attendance, professionalism and behaviour.
Scouting & Professional Club Opportunities
LDN provides opportunities for coaches who want to develop experience beyond traditional team coaching.
Depending on your goals, you may have opportunities to become involved in:
- Player scouting and talent identification
- Player assessment and reporting
- Supporting LDN recruitment
- Identifying players for advanced development opportunities
- Academy referrals
- Professional club liaison
Coaches can also be supported and taught how to liaise and engage professionally with professional clubs, including:
- Communicating with academy scouts

- Understanding academy recruitment and talent-identification structures
- Supporting players and families through professional-club opportunities

Qualifications & Experience
We are interested in candidates who have:
- Previous football or sports coaching experience
- 1+ year of coaching experience preferred
- Strong understanding of football
- Good communication skills
- Strong leadership and motivational qualities
- Good organisational and session-planning skills
- Confidence working within competitive youth football
- An interest in player development and progression
- A professional, reliable and positive attitude
- We are open to train and develop individuals with no experience
Relevant football coaching qualifications are desirable.
Driving Licence: Preferred.
