Are you ready to make a real impact in people’s lives while developing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? We’re looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our Client Financial Services Team as Income & Assessment Officers.
Client Financial Services is part of the Finance & Public Value Directorate, supporting Adult Social Care across Devon County Council. The service plays a vital role in generating over £80 million in income annually through financial assessments, income collection, debt management, and benefit support.
Financial Assessment Team – Supporting Fair Contributions
In this role, you’ll carry out financial assessments and benefit entitlement reviews for clients receiving adult social care, including mental health services. You will work directly with clients and their representatives to:
- Ensure that charges are applied fairly and in line with national legislation and local policies.
- Help clients or their representatives understand their financial responsibilities.
- Signpost to additional benefits or support they may need/be entitled to.
Income & Debt Management Team – Make Every Penny Count
This is a fast-paced, rewarding role where you’ll be at the heart of ensuring that contributions for social care are collected efficiently and fairly. You’ll work directly with clients and their representatives to:
- Provide clear advice and guidance on payment options
- Offer tailored debt resolution strategies
- Secure high-value debts and ensure financial sustainability
- Help clients navigate financial challenges with empathy and professionalism
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives on responsibility, and wants to make a tangible difference. You’ll be part of a team that’s embracing digital innovation, improving processes, and delivering excellent service to the people of Devon.
