Full job description

Social Media Manager, Content Creator & Paid Ads Specialist

Location: Leicester City Centre
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000–£34,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Manager, Content Creator and Paid Ads Specialist with at least 2–3 years of hands-on professional experience working in social media, content creation or digital marketing.

This is not a graduate or entry-level position. We need someone who has already managed business social media accounts, created content in a commercial environment and taken responsibility for delivering campaigns and measurable results.

You’ll lead and grow our presence across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and other relevant platforms, bringing campaigns, products, store launches and brand moments to life through engaging food, lifestyle and people-focused content.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can develop a strong social media strategy, confidently create content from concept through to delivery and manage paid campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, traffic and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the brand’s presence across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and other relevant platforms.
  • Develop and deliver a social media strategy aligned with wider marketing and commercial objectives.
  • Plan and manage weekly and monthly social media content calendars.
  • Generate creative ideas for national campaigns, product launches, promotions, store openings and seasonal activity.
  • Film, photograph and edit high-quality short-form video and social content.
  • Create engaging food, lifestyle, behind-the-scenes and people-focused content.
  • Confidently appear on camera and support presenter-led content when required.
  • Write engaging captions and social copy that reflect the brand’s tone of voice.
  • Schedule and publish content consistently across all platforms.
  • Set up, manage and optimise paid advertising campaigns across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Manage audience targeting, retargeting, campaign testing and paid social budgets.
  • Monitor paid campaign performance to improve reach, engagement, traffic, conversions and return on ad spend.
  • Monitor platform trends, trending sounds, cultural moments and competitor activity.
  • Identify opportunities for reactive and trend-led content that remains relevant to the brand.
  • Review social media insights and produce clear performance reports and recommendations.
  • Support influencer, content creator, UGC and PR collaborations.
  • Attend stores, events, launches and content shoots when required.
  • Maintain a consistent and recognisable creative direction across all platforms.
  • Work collaboratively with designers, marketing colleagues, operations teams, franchise partners and external agencies.

About You

You’ll be an experienced, highly creative and commercially minded social media professional who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and working in a fast-paced environment.

You should already understand the realities of working within a business, including managing deadlines, receiving feedback, balancing creative ideas with commercial requirements and delivering work to a consistently high standard.

You’ll be confident working independently, managing multiple campaigns at once and turning ideas into polished content without needing constant direction.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of 2–3 years of professional, workplace-based experience in social media management, content creation, digital marketing or a closely related role.
  • Proven experience managing TikTok, Instagram and Facebook accounts for a business, agency or established brand.
  • A strong portfolio of social media content and campaigns created in a professional environment.
  • Hands-on experience filming, producing and editing short-form video content.
  • Experience using editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva or similar software.
  • Practical experience using Meta Ads Manager to create, manage and optimise paid campaigns.
  • A good understanding of campaign objectives, audience targeting, retargeting, testing, budget management and performance reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of platform trends, content formats and social media best practices.
  • Confidence appearing and speaking on camera.
  • Strong creative vision and the ability to develop ideas independently.
  • Excellent written communication and social media copywriting skills.
  • Experience using analytics and insights to improve content and campaign performance.
  • Strong organisation, planning and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a commercial environment.
  • A good understanding of branding, tone of voice and maintaining consistency across platforms.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive, as travel to stores, events, launches and content shoots may be required.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working for a food, restaurant, hospitality, retail or lifestyle brand.
  • Experience photographing and filming food products.
  • Experience working with influencers, UGC creators and PR campaigns.
  • Experience using TikTok Ads Manager or other digital advertising platforms.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location or franchise business.
  • Basic graphic design skills.
  • Experience managing paid media budgets and reporting on return on ad spend.
  • Experience working in-house within a marketing team or at a fast-paced creative or digital agency.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2–3 years of genuine, hands-on industry experience.
  • Creative, energetic and full of fresh ideas.
  • Commercially aware and focused on delivering results.
  • Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera.
  • Proactive and able to spot content opportunities without being prompted.
  • Passionate about food, social media and digital culture.
  • Able to work quickly without compromising quality or brand consistency.
  • Confident presenting ideas and contributing to the wider marketing strategy.
  • Dependable, organised and comfortable taking responsibility for your work.

Application Requirements

Please submit your CV along with a portfolio or examples of social media accounts, videos, paid campaigns or content you have created professionally.

Applications without evidence of relevant professional experience or examples of previous work may not be considered.

This role is intended for candidates with established industry experience and is not suitable for recent graduates without at least 2–3 years of relevant professional work experience.
