Full job description

,Role Purpose

Office Location: Hybrid/Office (Ingatestone, Essex)

Attendance at team meetings and office duty days in the Essex office as agreed

Salary: Range from £41,000 to £44,000 (inclusive of £2,400 pr year car allowance)

  • 45 ppm business mileage (first 10,000 per tax year, 25ppm thereafter)
  • Option to join either BUPA Medical Cover or Death in Service Benefit
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Training programme as required for role

Core Responsibilities

  • Hold a deliberately manageable caseload to protect recruitment capacity
  • Provide high-quality supervision and support to foster carers
  • Promote placement stability and positive outcomes for children
  • Maintain excellent compliance and regulatory standards
  • Contribute to household reviews and present to panel where required
  • Support carers in developing their skills and meeting training standards
  • Liaise effectively with Local Authorities to ensure strong matching
  • To supervise Social Work and other staff as directed by Senior Management.
  • To hold a specific lead role within the agency.
  • To be part of the Out of Hours Support to Foster Carers on a rota basis.

Safeguarding & Practice Excellence

  • Demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge and professional judgement
  • Ensure care plans, placement agreements, and risk assessments remain current
  • Participate in matching discussions to ensure children are placed with carers able to meet their needs
  • Respond effectively to incidents and notifiable events

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience within fostering services
  • Strong assessment capability (Form F desirable)
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Highly organised and self-directed
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Standard working hours are 9:00 am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday; however, you will be required to be flexible, depending on the needs of the role. There will be a requirement to take part in the out-of-hours duty on a rota basis.
