THE ROLE

We are looking for an additional CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and tooling, and with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in machining and manufacturing technology to contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic environment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES

  • Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines, editing and optimizing programs directly at the machine (Mazatrol, G-Code and Haas Controls)
  • Set up CNC machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment before production run
  • Operate CNC milling to produce components according to specifications
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to determine critical dimensions and tolerances to ensure accurate production
  • Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
  • Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task
  • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
  • Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings, as necessary
  • Maintains inventory of completed products
  • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimise downtime
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist with machine setup and part finishing
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

RESEARCH AND DESIGN

  • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design modifications and process improvements
  • Test experimental models under simulated operating conditions for such purposes as development, standardization, and feasibility of design
  • Evaluate processes, procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
  • Keep up to date with industry technology advancements.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To adhere to existing work practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternate system
  • Keep up to date with industry technology advancements
  • To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
  • To co-operate with Titan Energies in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures in the performance of the duties of the roll
  • To carry out any reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function in line with the level of responsibility of the role.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 5 years experience as CNC Machinist/Programmer, with knowledge of milling
  • You must be able to perform each of the specific responsibilities satisfactorily
  • A working knowledge a CAD /CAM, particularly Fusion 360
  • Programming and operation of:

Integrex (Mazak, 5th Axis Machine)

Slant Turn (Mazak)

Quick Turn (Mazak)

Haas VF series milling machines

  • Working knowledge of safety protocols.

SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
  • Proficient in maths
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and computer skills
  • Knowledge of metals and other materials
  • Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machine operation is required
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialised machining equipment effectively
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures within a manufacturing environment.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

  • Must hold current UK work eligibility status

It is therefore a requirement that the individual filling this position has an aptitude to learn new skills, to think for him/herself, and be able to work in an environment where fixed routines may not be established.
