Senior Full Stack Engineer

RentGuarantor helps tenants secure rental homes when they cannot provide a suitable personal guarantor, whilst protecting landlords and letting agents. We are building a new digital product that will support property professionals.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer to help take this product from early concept to a reliable, scalable Progressive Web App (PWA). This is a rare opportunity to shape the technical foundations of a new product, work with applied AI capabilities, and build software that has a direct impact on customers and the business. This role will collaborate closely with our RG Labs AI/ML team, led by Professor Dave Cliff.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and maintain a high-quality, responsive PWA using modern web technologies.
• Develop both front-end and back-end features, from intuitive user interfaces through to APIs, data models and integrations.
• Build offline-capable workflows, including local data capture, media handling, synchronisation and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate with the Head of Product, Product Designer and Product Owner to translate customer needs into practical, well-scoped technical solutions.
• Work closely with the RG Labs AI team to integrate AI-powered features into the product, such as document understanding, automated reporting and intelligent workflow support.
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions, balancing speed of delivery, maintainability, security and scalability.
• Build secure, well-tested services and ensure robust handling of sensitive customer and property data.
• Contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, deployment and cloud-based infrastructure practices.
• Support user testing, production troubleshooting and continuous improvement after launch.
• Help establish engineering standards, code review practices and technical documentation for a growing team.

What we’re looking for

• Significant experience as a full stack engineer, ideally including ownership of a product or major feature end to end.
• Strong front-end skills in a modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue or Svelte.
• Solid back-end experience with Node.js, Python, or a comparable stack, including API design and database modelling.
• Practical experience building or substantially contributing to a PWA, particularly offline-first functionality using service workers, caching and local storage.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and services, including authentication, file storage and notifications.
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
• A self-starter who can learn a new domain quickly and make sound decisions without needing detailed specifications for every task.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical colleagues.
• A collaborative approach to working with product, design and AI specialists.

Desirable experience

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with image and document processing, media upload pipelines, or offline synchronisation at scale.
• Experience with TypeScript, automated testing, accessibility and performance optimisation.
• Experience contributing to greenfield products or early-stage platform development.
• Experience working with AI/ML services or integrating LLM-based capabilities into production products.
