Solar Energy jobs in Arnold

We're growing our solar division and need an experienced solar roofer who knows PV mounting inside out. You'll own the roof side of each install: assessing the roof, setting out the array, fitting mounting systems to manufacturer specification and leaving every roof weather-tight and tidy. You'll work hand in hand with our electrical teams on everything from single-storey domestic retrofits to large agricultural and commercial arrays.

We're flexible on how you work with us. You can join on a permanent PAYE contract or work self-employed as a subcontractor on priced work, and a van is included on both routes. If you're proud of your installs and take safety seriously, we want to hear from you.

Two Ways to Work With Us

PAYE (permanent, salaried)

• £38,000–£42,000 per year, with fair, clearly defined overtime rates

• Domestic, commercial and agricultural installs across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands
• Paid under CIS

Key Responsibilities

• Assess roofs before install, checking covering condition, batten and rafter condition, and fixing positions, and flag any structural or remedial concerns before work starts
• Set out and install mounting systems across tile, slate, flat, fibre-cement and standing-seam roofs, including hooks, rails, cross-rail, clamp and ballasted systems
• Fit PV modules and module-level equipment such as optimisers to manufacturer specification and MCS installation standards
• Make good the roof covering: cut and replace tiles and slates around hooks, fit flashings and seal penetrations so every install is fully weather-tight
• Fit bird-proofing and run tidy, protected cable routes off the roof in coordination with the electrical team
• Plan and work safely at height on scaffold and other access equipment, following RAMS on every job
• Take ownership of quality on the roof and keep sites clean and professional. Our finish and presentation are a point of pride.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a roofer, with a solid track record of solar PV mounting installs
• Confidence working across a range of roof types and mounting systems
• A thorough understanding of safe working at height
• Pride in your workmanship and close attention to weatherproofing detail
• A full UK driving licence
• A reliable, professional, team-focused attitude
• Subcontract applicants: CIS registered, with your own public liability insurance
• Desirable: CSCS card, PASMA and/or IPAF, and experience on commercial or agricultural roofs
