As a Senior Solar Design Engineer you'll contribute to our mission of building sustainable and efficient energy systems across the UK. CorEnergy (part of Sureserve) has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior Solar Design Engineer. Due to continued growth and healthy pipeline we are scaling our inhouse design and delivery team.
Company Overview
CorEnergy assists our clients in achieving their carbon reduction goals, this includes developing decarbonisation strategies, and implementing solutions such as large scale solar and ASHP systems. We predominantly operate in the public sector with many projects financed through PSDS.
Role Overview
- Design and develop Solar PV, Battery Storage designs up to RIBA stage 4.
- Provide technical support and oversight at tender stage to ensure projects are assessed and system design, specification, performance, quality and project timescales are deliverable.
- Protect the interests of the Company and develop good working relationships with Clients, Consultants, Sub-contractors and Suppliers.
- Ensure that all designs and bids can be delivered on time, within budget, and to the Clients requirements
Responsibilities
- Designing PV system using PV SOL, PVSyst or other PV design software.
- Produce CAD drawings for SLD and System designs.
- Support projects by providing design layout, system specification, cost estimates and technical reports
- May include conducting technical site surveys (nationwide)
- Attend client meetings and building rapport to coordinate and develop solutions
- Coordinate statutory applications/submission, as required (DNO, planning, screening etc)
- Support the commercial team in the preparation of technical submission documents and tenders, from a technical perspective
- Uphold a robust health and safety culture across the company
- Support the development of quality management systems and divisional processes
- Ensure projects are designed and can be delivered to the highest quality of engineering and technical standard
- Gain and maintain knowledge of latest Electrical Codes (CPD)
- Carry out other duties that from time to time may be required.
- Application of BS 7671 wiring regulation
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with commercial solar design essential.
- Commercial awareness in renewable energy.
- Ground mounted PV and Battery Storage experience is highly desirable.
- Can do attitude with strong desire for self-development.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and Regulations essential.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate and methodical in work.
- Proficient in MS office, Excel and Projects important.
- Clear communicator, confident in communicating and influencing at all levels.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Batchelors degree or equivalent in Electrical engineering.
- Can commute to central Manchester.
