About the Role

DMH Electrical & Renewables is a growing electrical and renewable energy contractor specialising in solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, heat pumps and electrical installations across the North East.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Renewable Energy Sales & Design Coordinator to join our team.

This is an office-based, customer-facing role where you'll help manage new enquiries from their first contact with DMH through to quotation, proposal and booking technical sirte survey.

This is not a cold-calling sales role.

You'll primarily be dealing with customers who have already contacted us because they're interested in solar PV, battery storage or other renewable technologies.

Full training on our renewable energy products, systems and processes will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll help manage the early stages of our customer journey, including:

  • Responding to new customer enquiries
  • Speaking with homeowners and businesses by telephone and email
  • Carrying out initial customer discovery calls
  • Understanding what the customer wants to achieve
  • Collecting electricity bills, usage information, photographs and property details
  • Reviewing annual electricity consumption and usage patterns
  • Carrying out initial desktop assessments for solar PV and battery storage
  • Using mapping and solar design software to assess potential installations
  • Preparing professional desktop proposals
  • Producing and sending customer quotations
  • Explaining proposed systems and recommendations to customers
  • Following up outstanding quotations and enquiries
  • Answering customer questions throughout the quotation process
  • Arranging site surveys for suitable projects
  • Maintaining accurate customer and opportunity records
  • Working closely with our technical and installation teams when projects progress

Who We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need previous solar experience.

We're more interested in finding someone who is organised, confident dealing with customers, comfortable with technology and keen to build a career in renewable energy.

You should have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A professional and friendly telephone manner
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Confidence using computers and software
  • Good general numeracy
  • The ability to understand and explain technical information
  • The ability to manage multiple enquiries at different stages
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Full UK driving licence

Previous Experience

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Solar PV or battery storage
  • Electrical contracting
  • Renewable energy
  • Electrical wholesaling
  • Estimating or quotations
  • Technical sales
  • Customer service
  • Construction or engineering
  • Energy-related roles

However, previous renewable energy experience isn't essential.

If you're technically minded, confident speaking with customers and interested in developing a career within the renewable energy industry, we'd be happy to hear from you.

What We're Looking for Personally

The right person will be someone who takes ownership of their work.

You'll need to be comfortable picking up the phone, speaking with new customers, asking the right questions and ensuring enquiries don't get forgotten.

We're looking for someone who can combine good customer service with commercial awareness and technical curiosity.

We don't use a high-pressure sales approach. Our aim is to understand what the customer actually needs, provide good-quality advice and propose the right solution.

What We Offer

  • £27,000 - £32,000 salary depending on experience
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Training in solar PV and battery storage
  • Training on our design and proposal processes
