We don't offer off-the-shelf solar systems. Instead, we have curated a range of panels, batteries, and inverters for their blend of optimal performance and assured quality. We have chosen products that allow us to ensure that every system Spark installs is excellent as standard, seamlessly blending high-quality solar into a bespoke system that is tailored exclusively to our customers.

As demand for domestic solar continues to surge, we're expanding our renewable operations team and are looking for an experienced Solar PV Electrician to assist the installation of our residential solar projects across the UK. This role is attached to our new South East hub, based around Chelmsford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of solar PV inverters and battery storage systems
  • Carrying out service, maintenance, and inspection works on existing systems
  • Installation of AC supplies, containment, and cable runs
  • Fault finding, testing, and troubleshooting of PV and battery systems
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with industry best practice and system specifications
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and back-office staff
  • Maintain full compliance with health & safety procedures and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Travel across the UK where required, with overnight stays Monday–Thursday when necessary

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • Test & Inspection Certificate (2391 or equivalent)
  • Valid CSCS or ECS card
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in solar PV and/or battery storage systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations and testing procedures
  • Ability to clearly explain technical issues to customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to work at heights and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to use technology remotely
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel
