Primary Duties:

b4b Renewables T/A Daly Renewables Ltd. is an engineer-led specialist company in the design, installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems for homes and business. Providing top-class services across the UK and Ireland, our team are experienced and dedicated to provide the very best solutions and implementation to all our customers. We work on the most innovative renewable projects in the UK & Ireland and seeking a forward-thinking engineer who can challenge their skill set working on bespoke design solutions for the domestic and commercial sectors.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Renewable Energy Contracts Manager to join our team with minimum 18 months experience in a similar role. This is an exciting, challenging, and demanding role within the company, with opportunity to grow with the business.

The Job Role:

The role will involve project managing up to 40 domestic and light commercial projects at any given time, plus assist with office administrator in organising call outs and service visits for our existing customer base.

The role will also involve the following:

1. Scheduling in jobs on a daily/ weekly basis with office administrator through our workflow management software.

2. Scheduling in service visits and call outs on a daily/ weekly basis with office administrator through our workflow management software.

3. Checking that all materials are ordered in a timely manner in advance of system installation.

4. Checking the design's undertaken are completed in a timely manner in advance of system installation.

5. Ensure client is kept informed of the various stages of the contract and notified of any items they need to have prepared for before we visit site.

6. Carry out technical site visits to determine plant location in buildings.

7. Commissioning of our systems including updating software on products if required. This will primarily be done by our Service Engineer but may also be required as part of this role.

8. Work closely with the office and contractors, ensuring effective communication of project progress.

9. Meet potential customers, carry out retrofit surveys, providing advice, system demonstrations and quotes for work.

10. Work closely with a team of sub-contractors & installers in delivering the installation to ensure contract deadlines are met within defined programme, cost and quality parameters.

11. Ensure all required RAMS and paperwork are completed and up to date. Adherence to health and safety regulations.

12. Carry out service call-outs and use engineering experience to identify issues and resolve them. Identify potential or actual sources of technical problems and develop and implement appropriate solutions. This will primarily be done by our Service Engineer but may also be required as part of this role.

13. Work with office manager in preparing weekly sales claims & signing off incoming purchase invoices.

14. Ensure that any changes to the project plan are identified, agreed with the client before being undertaken and effectively managed.

15. On site handover demonstration of renewable energy systems to clients. Preparation of handover documentation such as manuals and drawings specific to the project, working in conjunction with Office Manager.

16. Deal with customer queries in a professional manner and ensure all queries are dealt with to the satisfaction of the customer, always representing the company in a positive and friendly manner.

17. Ensure that all project paper work required such as pressure test certificates, method statements, risk assessments etc. are completed for each project and placed in the appropriate file before final installation/ commissioning.

18. Engage the various social media outlets that the company use to promote its business. Upload project information/ photographs on a bi-weekly basis to ensure social media platforms and website are kept up to date.

19. Meet potential customers with quotations and explain operation and benefits of systems on offer (not expected of candidate until sufficient experience is gained in role).

20. Attend specific training courses as advised by the Director to improve technical knowledge.

21. Provide regular reports to the Director, on project performance against targets and budgets and attend internal team meetings as required.

22. Any other duties, within reason and capability, associated with this position as determined by the Directors.

23. Assist in doing and project manage the design associated with each project to include the following:

Prepare detailed design calculations and drawings of underfloor heating, geothermal heating, solar water heating, solar PV & mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems on AutoCAD and issue for approval prior to installation on site. This includes the following:

a) Heat Loss Calculations

b) Underfloor Heating Design Layout Drawings on AutoCAD

c) Geothermal Ground Collector Calculations

d) Heating & Plumbing Schematic Drawings on AutoCAD

e) Ventilation Calculations to determine pressure drop, flow rate settings etc.

f) Ventilation Layout Drawings on AutoCAD

g) Mechanical Plant Layout Drawings on AutoCAD

h) Core Hole Drawings on AutoCAD

i) Electrical Wiring Specifications

j) Electrical Schematic Drawings associated with mechanical installation on AutoCAD

k) Bill of Quantities prior to purchase order being placed

The Person:

  • Mechanical / Building Services / Environmental Engineering degree
  • Knowledge of plumbing and heating of domestic properties
  • Experience of reading and interpreting drawings and installation instructions
  • Experience of preparation of schematic drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrable experience of problem solving and results-focused
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills
  • IT literate, with a proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software
  • Full valid driving licence – please note that you will be required to have access to your own transport during the probation period
