About the Role….

We have a fantastic opportunity in our system design team based at our Maidenhead Office, with a vibrant and fast paced work environment.

As part of the busy Solar Design team you will be in charge of checking the feasibility of potential customers roofs and creating 3D designs for properties to help both the customers and our operations team visualise installations.

We want someone who can produce technical design solutions for roof mounted solar panel installations. From initial desktop assessments, followed by more detailed modelling and design development, working collaboratively with internal team and external parties.

Duties

- Producing SAP designs for potential customers

- Producing 3D models of solar systems for upcoming installations

- Working closely with the sales team to judge to suitability of potential properties before acquiring a sale

- Working closely with our operations team to plan out system designs and forecast cost of the system.

- You will be working in a team but being able to manage your own workload is a must. - Meeting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously will be part of your routine.

Role Requirements

- Strong CAD skills, Experience in a fast, paced environment, High level of proficiency in all IT programmes (MS Office, Excel, Outlook) and attention to detail are a must!

Any of the following would be desirable :

- Solar PV Fundamentals: Understanding of solar cell technology, module efficiency, shading impacts, inverter selection, and system performance metrics.

- Electrical Systems: Knowledge of DC and AC electricity, wiring diagrams, circuit sizing, grounding requirements, and electrical safety standards (BS 7671)

- Roofing Systems: Familiarity with different roof types, materials, and construction methods, including load capacity and potential challenges.

- Building Regulations: Awareness of UK building regulations (Part L) related to energy efficiency and solar PV installations.

- Design Software: Proficiency in specific software for solar PV design like SolarEdge, PV Sol, AutoCAD, or similar programs.

- Performance Modelling: Ability to use software tools to accurately estimate energy production based on various factors like location, system size, tilt, and shading.

- Financial Analysis: Calculating return on investment (ROI), payback periods, and potential savings for clients.

- Troubleshooting: Identifying potential issues with system design or performance and proposing solutions.
