GESS Renewables is a growing renewable energy company specialising in solar PV, battery storage and EV charging installations across the South East.

We are looking for an experienced Solar PV Roofer / Solar Installer to join our installation team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident working at height, takes pride in their work and understands what is required to install solar panels properly and safely.

The Role

Working as part of our installation team, you will be responsible for the roofing side of domestic solar PV installations, including:

• Installing solar PV panels and mounting systems on domestic properties
• Installing roof hooks, rails, brackets and associated mounting equipment
• Working on pitched and tiled roofs, including slate and other common roofing materials
• Measuring, setting out and installing panels accurately
• Ensuring roof penetrations are correctly installed and weatherproofed
• Working safely at height using appropriate access and fall-protection equipment
• Assisting with the loading, positioning and installation of solar panels
• Working alongside our electricians to complete installations efficiently
• Identifying and reporting any roofing or structural issues before or during installation
• Keeping the work area clean, tidy and safe
• Completing installations to a high standard, with attention to detail

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in roofing, solar PV installation or a similar trade
• Is confident and comfortable working at height
• Has experience working on domestic roofs
• Has experience installing on flat roofs
• Can use hand and power tools confidently
• Understands basic roof construction and different roofing materials
• Takes pride in producing a neat, professional finish
• Works well as part of a team
• Is reliable, punctual and takes responsibility for their work
• Has a good attitude and is willing to get stuck in
• Holds a valid driving licence

Solar PV experience is preferred but not essential for the right roofer, as training can be provided.

• Competitive salary – £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience
