Job Title: Decarbonisation Project Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + car + package

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Decarbonisation Project Manager to join our growing team. This is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of complex decarbonisation projects, including Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installations. You will lead project delivery, manage key client relationships, and ensure all works are executed in accordance with MCS standards and building regulations. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Take full ownership of decarbonisation projects at a senior level, ensuring lifecycle management from inception to project close-out.
• Client Management: Act as the primary liaison for clients, managing expectations, providing progress updates, and ensuring strong, ongoing relationships.
• Funding & Compliance Management: Ensure full compliance with all relevant funding streams, specifically MCS standards and building regulations, including rigorous documentation and submission processes.
• Strategic Oversight: Monitor project performance against KPIs, budgets, and timelines, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
• Technical Governance: Oversee technical installations (Solar PV, ASHP) to ensure they meet both internal quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal installation teams, sub-contractors, and external bodies to ensure seamless site operations.
• Risk & Resource Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies; ensure appropriate resource allocation across multiple contracts.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Funding Compliance: Achieve 100% accuracy in all decarbonisation funding submission documentation to eliminate audit queries and funding clawbacks.
• Project Profitability: Consistently maintain project gross margins in line with business targets through strict budget management and efficient resource control.
• Timeline Adherence: Deliver 95% of key project milestones in accordance with the established master schedule.
• Quality Assurance: Achieve a "First-Time Fix" rate of 90% or higher and ensure a "zero-snag" handover process upon project completion.
• Client Satisfaction: Maintain a high Net Promoter Score (NPS) through proactive communication and the resolution of all client queries within agreed SLAs.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience in the decarbonisation, retrofit, or renewable energy sector at a Project Management level.
• Scheme Knowledge: Direct, hands-on experience working with ECO and Wave 3 funding schemes.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of Solar PV and ASHP installation technologies.
• Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 frameworks and related industry compliance standards.
• Leadership: Strong ability to manage stakeholders, client expectations, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Organisational Skills: High-level ability to manage multiple complex contracts concurrently without compromising on quality or compliance.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for high-level reporting and client presentations.

• Industry-recognised qualifications relevant to the renewable energy/decarbonisation sector.
