Domestic Energy Assessor

Whole-House Retrofit · Solar PV & Battery Surveys

Looking for a fresh start, an exciting challenge, or a chance to put your electrical knowledge to work in a growing industry? We've got just what you need…

Launch Your Career as a Domestic Energy Assessor

Due to continued business growth at Union Technical Services Ltd, we're offering an exciting opportunity for driven individuals with electrical knowledge to join our team as Domestic Energy Assessors. We're always on the lookout for talented people to join our vibrant team and contribute to the implementation of our comprehensive whole-house retrofit approach, including Solar PV and battery installation under our Energy as a Service (EaaS) programme. Within Union Technical, you'll find endless opportunities for career progression and personal development, keeping you at the forefront of sustainable home improvements and contributing to a greener future.

What You'll Be Doing

▪ Carrying out retrofit and technical surveys of properties to assess suitability for energy efficiency measures, Solar PV and battery installation

▪ Assessing existing insulation, heating systems and overall property condition to inform whole-house retrofit recommendations

▪ Recording roof condition, pitch and orientation, consumer unit location and capacity, and battery placement options

▪ Identifying MI switch requirements, EV charger feasibility, and any electrical, asbestos or structural concerns

▪ Ensuring all surveys are completed to industry standard, with the right supporting evidence for governing body submissions

▪ Meeting diary schedules issued by the office in a timely manner, and keeping customers fully informed of survey requirements

▪ Logging all Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) where required

▪ Keeping up to date with industry standards for domestic energy and retrofit surveys

▪ Communicating clearly and professionally with tenants and homeowners throughout the visit

Electrical Knowledge Essential

This role calls for a solid grounding in electrical systems — whether you're a qualified electrician, electrical engineer, or bring relevant hands-on experience with domestic wiring and consumer units, with 3–5 years of experience required. We'll provide full training on our retrofit survey process, EaaS Solar PV and battery systems, and MCS standards, building on the electrical foundation you already have. Once you complete training, you'll secure a full-time position with:

▪ A Competitive Salary

▪ A Company Vehicle

▪ Fantastic Benefits Package

You'll also have the opportunity to travel and work across the UK, adding variety and excitement to your new role.
