Job Description: Project Management – BESS and Solar
Pay: £40,000.00 - £60,000.00 per year
Job Type: Full-time
Our Company:
OTDS is an electrical engineering company, originally specialising in the oil and gas industries. Established in 1978, we have evolved to be a key manufacturer of E HOUSE substations, ESP equipment, transformers and all overhead line materials within the renewable, oil and gas industries around the world.

The role:
The recent growth in manufacturing demand for our E HOUSES and containerised substations means there is now a requirement for a technically experienced project manager to help lead our UK solar and BESS projects from inception to completion. This will include management of EPC, design and manufacture, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high-quality standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Developing project plans, defining technical requirements, and overseeing the installation, design, and supply
  • · Being responsible for the consistent project delivery including high-quality services through management of the operational teams
  • · Leading and coordinating project teams, including electricians and subcontractors
  • · Effectively managing projects to ensure they adhere to the allocated budgets and resources, while escalating any delays, budget variations and potential obstacles to management
  • · Building and maintaining relationships with the client and/or their representatives, operations teams and managers, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • · Share any service issues and propose and implement improvement strategies, sharing these through regular progress meetings and weekly reports
  • · Ensure all project documentation and customer approvals are obtained and retained for audit purposes
  • · Maintaining high-quality standards throughout the design and construction phases of the project, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards at all times

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • · Technical Expertise:
  • A strong technical background and experience in electrical engineering
  • Previous project management experience within utility-scale ground mounted solar PV and BESS
  • Qualified at HNC level; relevant industry training (SMSTS, CDM, IOSH)
  • Experience in reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes.
  • · Project Management Skills:
  • The ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively using Project Management tools and Microsoft applications to an advanced level.
  • · Communication & Leadership:
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills to guide teams and liaise with stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to multi-task.
  • · Regulatory Knowledge:
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and the ability to ensure compliance
  • Exposure to maintaining health and safety standards.
