Solar PV Electrician – Subcontractor

Rayotec | London & South East (Primarily East London & surrounding areas) £Competitive day rate (DOE) | Part-time / Freelance / Subcontract | 1–3 days per week

About the Role

Rayotec is looking for a qualified electrician with commercial solar PV experience to join our maintenance team on a flexible subcontract basis.

You'll be carrying out inspection, testing, fault-finding, and repair of commercial solar PV systems across East London and the surrounding areas. If you're an experienced electrician who wants reliable, ongoing work in the fast-growing renewable energy sector — with the flexibility to fit it around your existing commitments — this is a great opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and maintain commercial solar PV systems
  • Perform fault-finding and carry out remedial works
  • Replace inverters and carry out rewiring as required
  • Ensure compliance with 18th Edition wiring regulations and current health & safety standards
  • Represent Rayotec professionally on client sites

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds 2361, 2362, 2330, 2356, or 2357)
  • City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition – City & Guilds 2382-18
  • Solar PV qualification – C&G 2372 / 2399, BPEC, or NICEIC

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience working on commercial solar PV systems (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience with 3-phase electrical systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Other Requirements

  • Own van and tools
  • Ability to travel across London and surrounding areas
  • Reliable, professional, and self-motivated
