Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams, the Electrical Site Engineer will supervise and coordinate electrical installation activities during the construction phase, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications, quality standards and programme requirements.

The role involves close coordination with electrical subcontractors, commissioning teams and civil/mechanical disciplines to support the successful delivery, energisation and handover of renewable energy projects.

  • Reviewing and interpreting electrical drawings, cable schedules, single-line diagrams (SLDs) and installation details to support site execution.
  • Supporting testing activities, inspections, insulation resistance tests, continuity checks and commissioning preparation.
  • Coordinating electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams to ensure efficient project execution and minimise interface conflicts.
  • Monitoring subcontractor productivity, daily progress, project delays and implementing risk mitigation actions where required.
  • Maintaining quality records, testing documentation and corrective action tracking throughout the construction phase.
  • Supporting energisation activities, pre-commissioning processes and final handover activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSE standards, electrical safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe systems of work across all site activities.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising and coordinating electrical installation works within construction and renewable energy projects.
  • Practical experience in subcontractor management, commissioning support and electrical site execution.
  • Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, including cabling, terminations, switchgear, transformers, inverters, earthing and grid infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with electrical installation practices, commissioning activities, QA/QC processes and testing procedures.
  • Understanding of IET Wiring Regulations, G99/G100 standards and industry compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret cable schedules, technical drawings, SLDs and electrical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams in fast-paced site environments.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills under site pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach and strong commitment to quality, safety, RAMS and project delivery.
