PRE-CONSTRUCTION MANAGER / SENIOR M&E & RENEWABLES ESTIMATOR

Job Location: Birmingham

Salary: DOE With competitive package.

SHAPE THE FUTURE OF M&E & RENEWABLE ESTIMATING

Dodd Group’s growing Strategic Projects Division is looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager / Senior M&E & Renewables Estimator to join our Birmingham team.

This is more than a traditional estimating role. You’ll help secure exciting projects, influence our estimating function and play a key role in developing AI-powered estimating tools and smarter digital workflows.

  • Air & Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • Solar PV and energy centres
  • Heating decarbonisation and boiler replacements
  • Hybrid energy systems and building services refurbishment
  • Public sector framework projects

What You’ll Do

  • Lead M&E estimates for projects valued at £500k–£4m
  • Develop cost plans, tenders and value engineering proposals
  • Manage supplier/subcontractor enquiries and quotations
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Support tender handovers, mobilisation and project teams
  • Help shape our AI and digital estimating systems

What We’re Looking For

5+ years’ estimating experience, strong M&E Building Services knowledge, experience pricing £500k–£4m projects, commercial awareness and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience with Excel and digital estimating software, plus a full UK driving licence, is required.

Electrical bias, Principal Contractor experience and knowledge of renewables such as heat pumps, Solar PV and district heating are highly desirable.
