Join OVO Solar & Heating South Coast

OVO Solar & Heating South Coast is one of the region’s fastest-growing renewable energy businesses, helping homeowners transition to cleaner, smarter energy solutions through Solar PV, Battery Storage, EV Charging and Air Source Heat Pumps.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Technical Renewables Surveyor to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in roofing, construction, electrics, surveying or technical installations who enjoys problem solving, working with customers and wants to play an important role in delivering successful renewable energy projects.

About the Role

This role focuses on carrying out technical surveys at customer homes after the sale has been agreed and before installation takes place.

You will be the bridge between our sales and installation teams, ensuring every installation is properly planned, surveyed and prepared for success.

You do not need to be a solar expert already — full training will be provided. We are looking for someone technically minded, proactive and confident working with customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out technical surveys at customer properties
  • Assessing roof suitability and installation requirements
  • Planning cable routes and identifying technical requirements
  • Identifying scaffolding, access and installation considerations
  • Gathering accurate site information and photographs
  • Liaising with customers professionally and confidently
  • Ensuring installation teams have all information required for smooth delivery
  • Working closely with our operations and installation teams
  • Helping identify potential issues before installation day

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Technically minded and solutions focused
  • Confident dealing with customers face-to-face
  • Organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Proactive and able to spot problems before they arise
  • Experienced within construction, roofing, electrics, surveying or similar environments

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the below would be beneficial:

  • Roofing
  • Solar PV
  • Electrical work
  • Construction
  • Property surveying
  • Technical installations

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What We Offer

  • £30,000 salary (negotiable depending on experience)
  • Company vehicle
  • Full training and development
  • Opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business
  • Progression opportunities within the renewables industry
  • Friendly and supportive team environment

This role would particularly suit someone looking to move from hands-on site work into a more technical, customer-facing position whilst remaining involved in the construction and renewables sector.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company car
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
