About Eleven Energy

Eleven Energy is a UK-based sodium-ion battery company developing safe, sustainable and smart energy storage systems for homes and businesses. We are growing quickly and are looking for a technically strong, customer-facing specialist to support installers, commercial customers and channel partners across the South West.

This is a hands-on technical sales role for someone who understands battery installations in the real world. You will work closely with installers, distributors, customers and our internal technical team to support product adoption, pre-sales design, training, commissioning and post-installation technical support.

The Role

We are looking for a qualified electrician with extensive experience installing home and commercial battery systems. You will help customers and installer partners understand, specify and successfully deploy Eleven Energy’s battery products.

This role combines technical sales, installer support, site assessment, product training and field-based troubleshooting. It would suit someone who has previously worked as a solar/battery installer, technical sales engineer, commissioning engineer, or senior electrician within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sales of Eleven Energy battery systems across the South and South West.
  • Provide technical guidance to installers, distributors and end customers.
  • Advise on battery sizing, inverter compatibility, installation configuration and commissioning requirements.
  • Deliver installer training and product demonstrations.
  • Support customers and installers during installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues remotely and on site where required.
  • Feed installer and customer feedback into the product and engineering teams.
  • Help build long-term relationships with regional installers and commercial partners.
  • Represent Eleven Energy at trade events, customer meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully qualified electrician, ideally holding an ECS Gold Card or equivalent recognised UK electrical qualification.
  • NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, or equivalent recognised electrotechnical qualification.
  • Current BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Proven competence in domestic and commercial electrical installation work.
  • Extensive hands-on experience installing, commissioning and troubleshooting battery energy storage systems.
  • Strong understanding of residential and commercial battery installations.
  • Experience with solar PV, hybrid inverters, AC-coupled systems and backup/EPS configurations.
  • Confident reading electrical schematics, installation manuals and technical documentation.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to installers and customers.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based regional role.
  • Based in, or able to regularly cover, the South West of England.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems, or equivalent battery storage qualification.
  • Solar PV installation qualification or proven solar PV installation experience.
  • Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
  • Experience with commercial battery systems, three-phase installations or larger hybrid inverter systems.
  • Familiarity with UK grid connection requirements, including G98/G99.
  • Experience with DNO applications and commissioning paperwork.
  • Experience delivering installer training or technical product demonstrations.
  • Knowledge of energy tariffs, smart energy management, EV charging, heat pumps or immersion control.
  • Previous technical sales, field applications, commissioning or after-sales support experience.
  • Experience working with distributors or installer networks.
  • MCS, NICEIC, NAPIT or other relevant industry scheme experience.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to join a fast-growing UK battery company at an exciting stage.
  • Hands-on role with direct influence on product adoption and customer success.
  • Work with next-generation sodium-ion battery technology.
  • Close collaboration with the leadership, engineering and product teams.
  • Competitive salary, depending on experience.
  • Performance-based incentives.
  • Career progression as the company scales.
