18th Edition Electrician Solar PV – Solar PV Team Lead (Full‑Time, £45,000–£55,000 + Company Vehicle)

We’re looking for a full‑time 18th Edition Electrician to lead a small team of three and take ownership of solar PV installations across Somerset. This is a senior, hands‑on role where you’ll oversee AC works, guide junior electricians, and ensure every installation meets the highest standards of safety, compliance and workmanship.

You’ll act as the technical lead on site, working with solar panels, hybrid inverters, battery systems and full system commissioning. Strong experience in solar PV is essential, as you’ll be the point of contact for both customers and project managers, keeping each job running smoothly from start to finish and this will be for Domestic and New build installs

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of three on domestic and small‑scale commercial solar PV installations
  • Carrying out AC connections, testing and certification to 18th Edition standards
  • Installing and commissioning hybrid inverters, battery systems and monitoring equipment
  • Working confidently at height on roofs and access systems as part of daily installation work
  • Working closely with surveyors and project managers to plan and deliver each installation
  • Supporting and developing junior electricians on site
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard
  • Communicating clearly with customers during installation and handover
  • Managing vehicle stock, tools and site readiness for each job

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience installing and commissioning battery storage systems
  • Familiarity with SolShare installation and configuration
  • Additional solar or renewables certifications

We’re offering a salary of £

£45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, along with a company vehicle for travel across Somerset. You’ll have consistent full‑time work, a supportive team around you, and the chance to help shape how our installation division grows.
