All Checked Up is a family-run, GPhC-registered UK pharmacy based in Macclesfield, Cheshire. We offer science-led health testing and screening that is simple, accessible and built around the patient: private blood tests, cancer screening, resting ECGs and travel vaccinations in clinic, plus self-collection and nurse home-visit tests, and corporate healthcare for employers.

We see patients in our own-branded clinics in Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Baker Street, London, with a partner clinic on Wimpole Street, London. Our patients rate us Excellent for being efficient, kind and professional, and that is the standard we expect from every member of the team.

We are expanding our diagnostic offering and want an experienced Sonographer who will deliver the same quality of care.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake a range of ultrasound examinations independently, in line with company policy and national guidelines.
• Provide a complete scanning and reporting service within your scope of practice.
• Interpret images and produce accurate, comprehensive diagnostic reports, including recommendations for further investigation or referral where appropriate.
• Seek Radiologist review of reports where clinically appropriate and use feedback to support your professional development.
• Deliver a high standard of patient care in a safe, clean and professional clinic environment.
• Manage your ultrasound sessions effectively, working closely with clinic and reception colleagues to keep the patient pathway running smoothly.
• Support clinic preparation, including equipment set-up and image uploading to PACS where required.
• Stay calm and professional when patient demands change or situations are challenging.
• Communicate clearly and sensitively with patients, referrers, clinicians and colleagues, including when sharing complex or difficult information.
• Contribute to the training of students and other healthcare professionals where required.
• Take part in clinical audit, governance and quality improvement activities.
• Keep up to date with developments and best practice in medical ultrasound.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety, infection control, safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.
• Promote equality, diversity, dignity and respect in all interactions.

Skills and experience required

• Relevant postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound, such as DMU, PGC/PGD or equivalent.
• Current HCPC registration (or equivalent professional registration).
• Strong clinical experience and competence across the examinations within your scope of practice.
• Ability to scan and report independently, using sound clinical judgement.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures and deliver sensitive information to patients.
• Confidence working with patients who may be anxious, distressed or have complex needs.
• Good understanding of professional standards, clinical governance, confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to CPD and maintaining fitness to practise.
• Experience using PACS and patient management systems.
• Flexibility to work across our clinic locations and respond to service demand.

Professional standards

As a Sonographer you are accountable for your own professional practice and clinical decisions, including independent diagnostic reports. You will be expected to:

• Maintain your professional registration and CPD.
• Take part in appraisal and relevant training.
• Follow company and site-specific policies and procedures.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
