Actual salary for term time, part time working (32.5 hours) £21,000.

Due to continued growth, Sporting Chance Project requires Engagement Mentors, Educators, and Life Skills Coaches to work with students aged 5-19. The position is available to full-time applicants working school hours (32.5 hours per week), although part-time applicants will also be considered for the right candidate.

The successful candidates will report to the Head of Education & Life Skills and be committed to meeting and developing the needs of vulnerable young people who struggle in a school setting or life in general, with safeguarding the CYP paramount to the role.

SCP work with Children and young People (CYP) who have various conditions that make school and life difficult at times. The CYP may have a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Educational Health Care Plan, which could identify Social, Emotional, Behavioural, Mental Health, ADHD, or Autism (ASD) needs.

Part of the employment will involve helping CYP make the right choices, developing Life Skills, and supporting the young person on a pathway of their choice. Reintegrating the young person back into some form of education or employment will assist in future pathways.

You will also be expected to conduct regular student reviews and actively participate in the young person's development by completing weekly reports and keeping parents/carers informed.

You will be an ambassador for the Sporting Chance Project and are expected to present a positive image of the project at all times.

About Sporting Chance Project:

Sporting Chance Project is an Alternative Learning Provider that continues to supply a service to meet the needs of CYP, offering education in Functional Skills, Construction Trade, Health & Fitness, Catering, Money matters and Independent Living Skills, together with Personal & Social Development all dependent upon individual CYP's needs.

We work with any CYP who may be struggling in mainstream school, excluded or on the verge of exclusion from school, diagnosed SEN(with EHCP) or showing signs of SEN traits.

SCP continue to expand to meet the needs of CYPs. We offer a Child centre approach to meet educational, social & community requirements. Outstanding in finding the next pathway for our CYPs and helping to develop employees to enhance their own personal ambitions.

Candidates should possess:

- Empathy for children

- Ability to communicate, engage, mentor, and educate young people.

- Excellent organisation, communication & people skills

- Current DBS OR Valid Safeguarding Children Certificate, although SCP will apply obtain if required.

-Computer literate, ability to use email, Word and Excel-based documents.

- An understanding of young people, learning, life skills & career pathways

- Full Driving License, as the successful candidate will be required to travel around Bristol between schools and pick-up locations.

- Experience in tutoring learners (desirable but not essential)

- Experience of working with SEN young people with individual needs. (desirable but not essential)

The successful candidate will undergo a comprehensive screening process that includes an enhanced DBS check, a complete reference check, and training. Sporting Chance Project will fully support the successful applicants.
