Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled South Indian Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes that delight our guests and uphold the highest standards of food quality and safety. Your expertise in traditional recipes, food preparation, and kitchen management will help create an inviting dining experience that celebrates rich flavors and cultural authenticity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talent while leading a team dedicated to excellence in hospitality.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional South Indian dishes, ensuring authentic flavors and presentation standards are met
  • Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all menu items
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety protocols
  • Manage food inventory, ensure proper storage, and minimize waste through efficient kitchen practices
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards at all times
  • Lead team management efforts by training new staff, scheduling shifts, and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Serve dishes with professionalism, ensuring timely delivery to guests while maintaining high service standards

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or similar culinary role with a strong focus on South Indian cuisine
  • Demonstrated supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant setting
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, sambar, rasam, vadas, and more
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a culinary team effectively
  • Solid understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and kitchen operations
  • Previous restaurant experience with a focus on hospitality and customer service excellence
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation and quality

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,500.00 per year
