Job Advert Description
Counter Terrorism Policing Wales (CTPW) invites applications for the position of Regional Training and Development Lead Coordinator.
You will form part of a small Prepare Team, supporting the delivery of training and exercise activity for CTPW personnel and multi-agency partners across Wales. This role will involve active engagement in organisational learning to enhance preparedness, including conducting structured debriefs and producing comprehensive reports.
Ideally, you will have prior experience in training delivery, exercise planning, or civil contingencies within a previous role. Candidates must either hold, or be willing to obtain, the National Certificate of Professional Competency for a CT Prepare Officer through NaCTSO.
We are seeking an individual who is creative, forward-thinking, and able to bring fresh, innovative ideas. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing the impact and engagement of our training campaigns, contributing positively to the safety of communities in Wales.
Training for this role will involve attendance on a range of courses across the UK, which may last up to one week at a time. The position also requires travel throughout Wales, and on occasion, across the UK. As such, regular period away from home are an inherent part of the role, potentially occurring several times each month, and applicants must be able to accommodate this requirement.
Please be aware that if your current post is within South Wales Police’s Public Service Centre you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.
This role is based in Bridgend.
This post requires the successful Candidate to successfully complete vetting to MV/SC Level.
As an equal opportunities’ employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates are currently underrepresented within the Force, we would particularly welcome applications from ethnically diverse candidates.
To support the ambition of a diverse workforce, South Wales Place is able to offer a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS). The GIS is available for people living with a disability or identify as ethnically diverse.
If you are an applicant who is living with a disability or from an ethnically diverse background (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) and would like to be considered under the GIS, you must meet the essential minimum criteria for the role as outlined in the advert and role profile. You should take time to evidence that you meet each of the essential criteria in your application form and/or personal statement and CV.
The post will also require the successful completion of an additional security induction process, part of which requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections. It must be stressed that this is in addition to Force Management Vetting. Candidates must achieve both clearances to take up this post.
Employment within Counter Terrorism Policing requires applicants for the role to undertake a further security induction for which British citizenship is required. Failure to hold citizenship would preclude persons for applying for these positions.
CTP Wales actively encourages those from under-represented groups to apply so we can achieve a workforce representative of the communities we serve.
If you require additional information, please contact HR Helpdesk HR.HELPDESK@south-wales.police.uk who will put you in touch with the Prepare Team.
