Full job description

Job title: Safeguarding Officer

Department: Safeguarding

Reporting to: Designated Safeguarding Lead

Location: South Wales

Contract type: Permanent

Hours of work: 40 hours p/w (Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm)

Salary: £39,000.00 per annum

The Safeguarding Officer is responsible for supporting the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable service users.

The postholder will facilitate the effective day-to-day operation of the Regional Safeguarding Teams and support the delivery of safeguarding activity across the allocated region.

The Safeguarding Officer will also contribute to organisational development by supporting Regional Safeguarding Teams to embed a culture of safeguarding, continuous improvement and learning across the organisation.

The postholder will have experience of working in a safeguarding environment and will be competent at making risk-based decisions in line with legislation, agreed thresholds and timescales.

A region will be allocated based on geographical location. Regular travel is required, so a full and valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. The postholder will be expected to manage their time and caseload independently and effectively, balancing fieldwork with remote working duties.

All successful applicants will be required to undertake a satisfactory DBS check in line with their job role.
