Full job description

Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency are delighted to be working with this truly lovely family as they prepare for an exciting move from London to the Hale/Altrincham area this summer.

Monday to Friday 8am-6pm

This warm, fun and vibrant British-Argentinian family are looking for an exceptional full-time Spanish-speaking nanny to become a huge part of their children’s lives during an important transition period. Spanish language is incredibly important to the family, not only culturally, but emotionally too the children regularly communicate with their grandparents in Argentina over video calls, so finding someone who can naturally nurture and develop their Spanish language skills is a key priority.

This role is about so much more than childcare. The family are hoping to find someone who will bring warmth, energy, creativity and stability as the children settle into a brand-new home, new routines and a whole new adventure in the North West.

About the Children

The eldest child is a sociable, funny and imaginative toddler with a huge personality and endless enthusiasm for life. He loves anything with wheels trains, planes, rubbish trucks and cars are current favourites! He thrives on interaction, activities and adventure, and attends a variety of classes including dance, gym and music sessions. He is bright, chatty and full of character, with a growing imagination and a wonderfully expressive nature.

The baby of the family is a happy, curious little girl who absolutely adores her big brother. Although she arrived a little early, she is doing brilliantly and thriving. She loves being involved in everything around her and has recently started weaning with great enthusiasm. The family would particularly welcome support around bottle feeding as this is still a work in progress.

About the Role

The role will involve caring for both children throughout the week, although the eldest child is likely to attend nursery on a part-time basis, allowing some quieter one-on-one time with the baby too.

This family are passionate about their children being social, stimulated and out exploring the world around them. They would love a nanny who genuinely enjoys planning adventures and getting out and about whether that’s library sessions, messy play, soft play, toddler groups, feeding ducks, local classes, parks, picnics or helping the children discover their new community.

As this is a relocation for the whole family, they are particularly hoping to find someone nurturing and emotionally intuitive who can help make the move feel exciting, safe and settled for the children.

The ideal nanny will be warm, engaging, proactive and naturally energetic someone who becomes a trusted and valued part of family life.

Duties Will Include:

  • Sole charge care of both children
  • Supporting Spanish language development naturally throughout the day
  • Organising fun, educational and age-appropriate activities
  • Taking the children to classes, groups and outings
  • Supporting routines, naps and weaning
  • Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
  • Children’s laundry and ironing
  • Keeping children’s areas organised and tidy
  • Helping the children settle happily into their new environment
  • Building confidence and security during the relocation transition

The Family

Both parents work full-time in leadership roles , with a mix of home and office working. They are relaxed, warm and hugely appreciative of good childcare. Their current nanny is adored and considered part of the family, so they are hoping to find someone equally special for this next chapter.

The family also have two cats:

  • One affectionate and wonderfully patient with children
  • One fluffy and slightly more antisocial!

The Ideal Nanny Will:

  • Must be fluent or native Spanish speaking
  • Have at least 5 years’ professional nanny or childcare experience
  • Have experience caring for babies and toddlers simultaneously
  • Be warm, playful, engaging and highly organised
  • Love getting children out socialising and exploring
  • Be confident supporting routines and developmental milestones
  • Be proactive, positive and adaptable during a family relocation
  • Be a careful and confident driver (helpful, although location dependent)
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Have excellent recent childcare references
  • Have the right to work in the UK

This is a genuinely lovely opportunity for a nanny seeking a long-term role with a kind, welcoming and appreciative family who truly value the person caring for their children.
