About the business division

The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland's water and wastewater challenges. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations, preventing urban flooding, and improving the health of our rivers and coastal environments. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design. Overview of the role

Having been appointed to several UK AMP8/9 water consultancy frameworks, we are looking for a Project Technical Lead to manage the technical delivery of wastewater projects/programme of works, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. You would build on the good work done in establishing our frameworks and work with our technical discipline leads to ensure projects within the wastewater programme are delivered on time, budget and drive technical excellence. This will be a customer facing role requiring close working relationships with our clients as part of a collaborative approach.

The role is expected to progress and evolve in line with the framework requirements and the candidates’ own skills and development areas. It offers an excellent opportunity to create future-proofed services and solutions that embrace latest innovations in digital technology and the chance to mentor the next generation of talent within our business.

  • Ability to check and review technical deliverables, calculations and reports
  • Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi-disciplinary teams as well as Client teams
  • Desire to take a leading role with client engagement

Desirable:

  • Track record of developing junior staff
  • Understanding of key wastewater sector treatment and sustainability needs
  • Understanding of drivers for treatment investment in England and Wales
  • Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English

This decision is as a consequence of the changes made to the Skilled Worker route by the UK Government in April 2024. We continue to welcome applications from candidates who are eligible for alternative immigration routes in the UK, that do not require sponsorship as a Skilled Worker now or in future.
